She received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from East Texas State Teachers College in Commerce.
She was a beloved sister, aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt.
She taught her first year in Arcadia and spent the next 34 years teaching with the Kemp Independent School District.
She was a devout Christian and believed in the Lord with all her heart. Her faith showed in how she lived and taught.
She attended the Church of Christ all her life.
Her pupils have continued to write, call, visit and send letters throughout the years, which is a testament of how much they loved and respected her.
She enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking and helping others in need. She loved her dog, Lassie.
Survivors include her sister, Frances Reasonover of Kemp; nephews James and Will Ed Reasonover of Kemp; niece Myra Kent and husband Leonard of Tyler; great-nephew Dr. James Kent and wife Geneva of Tyler; great-niece Katie Carter and husband Lyle; great-great nephew Cash Carter of Dallas; niece Alta Jo and husband Larry of Hedley; great-niece Laura Ann Owens of Canyon; great-nephew Don Owens and wife Colleen of Hedley.
