Funeral services for Julia “Judy” Worthy Ledbetter, 75, of Gun Barrel City, were held June 4, 2014 at Huckabee/Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points. Interment is set for 11:30 a.m. Thursday (today), June 5, 2014, at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery with Ken Maddox officiating.
Ledbetter was born Nov. 15, 1938, in Lufkin, to Ruth (Brookshire) and George H. Durham, and died May 31, 2014, in Tyler.
She was a teacher at Kemp ISD for 21 years.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Al Ledbetter; daughter Conni Wiley; stepdaughters Debra Reese and husband Steve, Pam Stenner and husband Mark; stepson Steve Ledbetter; sisters Janie Ward and husband Jim, Dianne Fields, Kathy Baize and husband Robert; grandsons Todd Meine, Shane Meine and wife Christal; granddaughter Elisha Anderson and husband Nathan; numerous stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruth Durham, first husband Ernest Worthy, son Mark Worthy and brother-in-law Roger Fields.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital, P.O. Box 199
