Camp of Champs
Beginning June 9 any incoming 7-12th grade athletes planning to participate in athletics next year can attend Camp of Champs at the high school. Camp of Champs is three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) from 8-10 a.m. It is designed to enhance character building, strength, agility, core, speed, quickness and endurance. No camp the week of July 4. Camp of Champs ends July 17. Cost is $25 per student.
Baseball camp runs June 9-11 from 8 a.m. – noon and is available for incoming first-11 graders. Session 1 is from 8-10 a.m. for first-fifth graders and session 2 is from 10 a.m. – noon for sixth – ninth graders. Both sessions are at the Mabank High School baseball fields. The camp will be directed by Head Coach Rod McDaniel and assisted by the Mabank Baseball coaching staff. Early registration (before or on June 6) is $50 per camper; regular is $55 per camper.
Softball camp begins Friday June 11 and ends on June 13. It will involve three days of mechanic drills from 8-10 a.m. for fifth-eighth graders and 10 a.m. – noon for first-fourth graders. Day one will focus on defense, day two hitting and day three pitching. Cost is $20 per day or $50 for all three.
The volleyball camp runs July 14-17 from 9 a.m. – noon and is available for incoming fourth-ninth graders. Camp fee is $50. Contact Stacy Shelton at (903) 477-2870, for more information.
Girls basketball camp will be in session from 1 – 4 p.m. June 16-19 at the high school. It is available for first-eighth graders.
Boys basketball camp runs from 1-4 p.m. June 23-26 at the Mabank High School gym and is available for incoming first-ninth graders. Cost is $60 by June 13 and $70 after. The camp will be facilitated by the Mabank High School coaching staff. The camp’s goal is to “develop each camper’s skills in basketball through individual fundamentals and team play, while incorporating sportsmanship and solid team values.”
