MABANK–Mabank businessman Abdul Abdin held a customer appreciation day at Floors4U in Mabank April 11.
The event doubled as the third annual fundraiser for Friederich’s Ataxia sufferer Natalie Newman, 15.
Abdin, a Rotary Club of Cedar Creek Lake member, and his mother, Sahar, from Arizona, cooked a large Mediterranean buffet of lamb, rice, salad and eggplant.
Customers submitted their name to win a 51 inch Samsung television and $500 cash.
The event raised more than $6,300 for Newman, a $600 increase from last year.
Donations for the cause were collected from many local businesses and families including Christi Barrett, Trout’s Appliances, Stop-N-Gogh Art Studio, Hobbs Pest Control, Tri-County Ford, Teague Chevrolet, BnR Pit Grill, Total Look II hair stylists Kelly Hamilton, Cherie Steveson and Paula Petty, Lakeway Chiropractic, Texas Tan, Cedar Creek Country Club, Jaime Perrelli, Legacy Plumbing’s Scott Smith and First Call Restoration owner Tim Lilly.
Musical guests included Blaq Label and T-Bone Stearns.
