Gun discharges during an argument, alleged shooter calls 9-1-1

KEMP–William Raymond Simons, 67, is charged with murder in the shooting death of his wife and is being held in the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center with a $500,000 bond.
The shooting took place Tuesday night at the couple’s Kemp area home on Farm-to-Market 3396, the result of an argument between the couple.
“A man called 9-1-1 and told officials he discharged a weapon during a domestic dispute,” said Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Fred Klingel-berger.
The call came in at 8:36 p.m.
Authorities had not released the woman’s name by presstime Thursday.
