Kemp High School Yellowjacket Band earns sweepstakes awards at two UIL contests

Congratulations to the Kemp High School Symphonic and Honor bands for an incredible performance March 6 and Feb. 27 during UIL Concert and Sight Reading contests held at Kemp High School and at the Canton Performing Arts Center. The honor band performed Blalock Canyon March, Moscow 1941, and Broken Bow and received a perfect score of First Division from all three judges. Following the concert portion of the contest, the band competed in Sight Reading and gave another perfect performance and again received a First Division rating from alll three judges. The Symphonic band also swept the contest with First Division ratings The directors are very proud of the successes these students have worked so hard to achieve. A Sweepstakes Award can only be awarded to bands that receive a First Division in each category. Kemp High School Band is a double Sweepstakes Award Winner. Way to go Kemp Band!
