MABANK–The Mabank Panthers fell in District 15-3A play to 1-6 after a hard-fought 38-35 loss to the Van Vandals Jan. 31 in Mabank.
The Mabank offense was lackluster in the first three quarters of play, and found itself down 28-15 after three quarters of play.
A fire was lit in the Panther players in the fourth quarter, scoring 20 points in the final eight minutes of action.
The comeback was not succesful, partly due to only one field goal in the third quarter, a two-pointer, by Cody Thompson.
Mabank was led in scoring by Austin Miller with 11 points and Parker Johannesen with 10.
Mabank travels to Brownsboro Feb. 7 as their schedule nears closure.
