Special to The Monitor
KEMP–Children were treated to a special event Halloween night at the Trunk or Treat event in Kemp City Park. Not only did the trick or treaters receive candy, there were games, hot dogs, cotton candy, hay rides, bounce houses and costume contests.
The event was sponsored by the city of Kemp, Kemp city council members, Hillcrest Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church of Kemp and Kemp businesses and residents.
“Trunk or Treat was a huge success,” city of Kemp mayor Laura Hanna Peace said. “People seemed to have fun and there was a big turnout.”
In addition to the event sponsors, Peace thanks Karla Jacobs, Kemp Kiwanis, city of Kemp employees, Kemp Volunteer Fire Department and the citizens who brought their “trunks” full of candy to share with the children for their help.
Many more photos from this event can be found in the November 7, 2013 issue of The Monitor.
