Davis was born Nov. 18, 1926, in Florien, La., to Agnes and Calvin Thaxton, and died Sept. 20, 2013, in Mesquite.
She was known for her vivacious personality and giving spirit. She had a keen wit and sharp sense of humor.
She was a seamstress for many years in Dallas and was sought after for her expertise. She had a love for the Native American heritage of her husband. She deeply loved all of her pets and wildlife.
She was also an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 40 years, Jeff “Hoss” Davis, parents, and brothers Berniss, Bailey, Elmer, Coolidge and Harvey Thaxton.
Survivors include her son, Martin Kennedy, Jr., of Gun Barrel City; brother Fred Thaxton of Springhill, La.; sisters Eva Masters of Colorado, Patsy Tarver of Waller, Wanda Chance of Garland and Edith Thaxton of Mesquite; grandsons Brian, Steven and Sean Kennedy; great-grandchildren Georgia, Dakota and Jasmine; a host of other family and friends.
