KEMP–The Kemp Lady Yellowjacket volleyball team hosted the Quinlan Lady Panthers on Aug. 17, and lost in four games.
Quinlan opened the match with a 25-17 win. Kemp picked up the pace in the second game, but Quinlan managed a second win, 25-19.
Kemp battled back in the third game of the set, defeating the Lady Panthers 25-23.
Quinlan bounced back to take game four 25-14.
In the contest, Kemp libero Dezi Dowder racked up six digs, while Bree Weisinger had three blocks and Shelby Rodrigues had two kills.
New Kemp head coach Liz Henning continues to fine tune her girls’ game, and sees no reason they won’t be ready for a playoff run when the district schedule begins next week.
“The girls are working hard every day,” Henning said. “We have set high goals, and are ready to meet each one.”
The Lady Yellowjackets open their district schedule as they host Scurry-Rosser Friday.
