Isbell was born Dec. 30, 1954, in Dallas, to Elva Fay (Thedford) and Thomas W. Isbell, and died Aug. 6, 2013.
He was known as “Bubba,” had a strong sense of humor and was a great family man.
He loved his Lord and Saviour and wanted everyone to be saved.
He held his family close to his heart and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He enjoyed traveling, drawing, studying the Bible and singing.
He graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School in Dallas in 1973.
He was Baptist by faith and felt a calling to become a pastor. He was a Sunday School teacher and community preacher. He received course certificates and did missionary work for “Bearing Precious Seed.”
He was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father and infant baby Isbell.
Survivors include his loving wife, Doris Isbell of Athens; sons Michael Isbell Jr., and wife Rebecca of Columbus, Ohio, Cecil William Isbell of Athens; daughters Christie Nations and husband Charles of Canton, Stacie Goodwin of Athens; mother Elva Gillentine of Grand Saline; sister Dianna Isbell McCarty and husband John of Grand Saline; grandchildren Thomas Cole, Zachary Nations, Michaela, Christopher, Ethan William and Jaimee Isbell, Dakota Goodwin; nephew Logan Anderson; other loving family members and many friends.
