TOOL–Former and current owners of Don’s Port have thrown in the towel. Jenny and Terry Scott report that they have closed the marina and Tiki Hut restaurant, located off of State Highway 274 near Tool. The only part remaining are the slips and dry storage. All the rest, fuel depot, valet service, boat repairs and short-term boat rentals have all be suspended.
All assets have been turned over to their financier, Pavillion Bank in Richardson. The bank is expected to hire someone to oversee the marina, while a buyer is sought.
The Scotts say the continuing drought has had a decisive role in the downward impact on their business operations at Don’s Port.
Should anyone be interested in buying The Marina, or know of someone who may be interested, she should contact Pavillion Bank at (972) 380-0700, mailing address 1200 W. Campbell Rd., Richardson TX 75080.
“Jenny and I both appreciate the support that our friends and customers have shown over the last seven years,’ Terry Scott posted on Facebook. “We’ll miss you, and hope to maintain the many friendships we’ve established.”
