21 teams compete for 12U state softball championship

MABANK–The Mabank Baseball Softball Association (MBSA) hosted the Texas Teenage Softball Association (TTAS) state 12U softball tournament this week, with 21 teams from around the state participating.
The tournament wrapped up Friday with the championship game held at 9 p.m. Tournament action began Monday, and utilized all five fields at George Watts Park in Mabank.
Among teams competing for the championship were the Grand Saline Explosion, Ballinger Hit & Run, Whitney Lady Cats, Stephenville Aces, Troup Cold Play, Mildred Eagles, Rice Rampage, Frankston Heat, Whitesboro Alley Cats, Normangee Nitro, Belton Punishers, Canton Viperrs, Grand Saline Salty Girls, Iola Bulldogs, Jacksonville JAXX, Athens Lady Cats, Thorndale Threat, Salado Slam, Canton Quick Stix, Denison Electrified and Belton Blast.
No Mabank teams advanced past the district tournament to compete for the state title.
