ATHENS–Henderson County Child Welfare Board chairman Justin Weiner presented a local Athens dentist with a certificate of appreciation for going above and beyond to help a foster child.
Dr. Brandon Allen, of Crestway Park Dental, volunteered his time and services removing braces for a Henderson County foster child. The work had been overlooked for years and was costly.
“The spirit and will of the citizens in our county never cease to amaze me,” Weiner said. “People like Dr. Allen, who are willing to volunteer their time and services to help children, are a true testament to the compassion our county has for its children.”
“We will never stop supporting and protecting each of these children, who have endured and survived so much,” Weiner added.
The Henderson County Child Welfare Board’s mission is to support a network of volunteers and Child Protective Services workers who are concerned with the welfare of children, especially those suffering from sexual violence, physical violence, and neglect.
The Child Welfare Board acts as a a liaison between the community and the Texas Department of Family and Child Protective Services.
