Wood was born Sept. 17, 1954, in Kaufman, to Esther (Haley) and Lloyd Bruner, and died July 8, 2013.
She graduated from Scurry-Rosser High School in 1974.
She was a simple woman, but she loved her family and her grandchildren, whom she spoiled rotten.
She was a spiritual person, enjoyed attending church and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seven Points for more than 20 years.
She taught Sunday School, was the vacational bible school director and part of the Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed going to garage sales, singing and playing the tambourine in the choir and many other activities for the church.
She was preceded in death by her father, brother Billy Ray Bruner, and sisters Geneva Bruner and Connie Shaw.
Survivors include her sons, T.J. Powell and wife Jennifer of Kemp, Bubba Powell and wife Chelsea of Seven Points; daughters Lacey Wright and husband Terry of Forney, Danielle Borroum and husband Aaron of Seven Points; eight grandchildren; mother; brothers Lloyd Bruner of Scurry, Roger Bruner and wife Shirley of Styx, Billy Jack Bruner and wife Charlotte of Styx, Mark Bruner and wife Kay of Kemp; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
