Western Week Rodeo thrills crowds

MABANK–The Mabank Western Week rodeo offered fun and excitement to rodeo-goers. And, to top it off, the weather remained reasonably seasonal.
Only one bareback bronc rider stayed on for his full eight seconds. Jake Brown won the event’s $764.40 purse with a score of 77.
There were no qualified rides in the saddle bronc event.
Daniel Floyd won the ranch bronc event with a score of 71, earning $532.50.
There were 16 entries in the tie-down roping event.
Trent Turner won the event with a time of 8.47 seconds. He earned $739.20 for the win.
Michael Akins placed second and Kevin McDougal placed third.
Lindsey Walters won the women’s breakaway roping event with a time of 3.74 seconds. The win earned her $726.70.
Dale Martin and Colt Baldwin won the team roping event with a time of 8.05 seconds. The win netted them $756.50 each.
Jordan Wright took the top spot in the barrel racing competition with a time of 16.814.
Ashley Guest took second with a time of 16.908.
Kyim Haddad won the bull riding event with a score of 81. He earned $693.50 with the win.
T.J. Bates and Randy Meyers tied for second place with a 79 score. They each earned $465.95.
Tate Harris and Jeb Bennett tied for third with scores of 77. They each earned $270.90.
