Gossett was born May 28, 1932, in Grays Prairie, to Effie Gertrude (Baker) and Isaac Walter Gossett, and died June 20, 2013.
He was in the auto parts business his whole life. He started delivering parts on his bicycle for a dealer when he was 16. He owned three stores and a warehouse in El Paso before moving his business to the lake area.
He and his wife opened Mark’s Auto Parts in Gun Barrel City in 1988 and stayed in business until 1994.
He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as mowing and traveling.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant in Korea. He was also a member of Cedar Creek Lake United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, niece Donna, and brothers Ike, Hugh and Roy Gossett.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Billie Ruth Gossett, of Kemp; children Michael Gossett of Gun Barrel City, Brenda Johnson and husband Dusty of McKinney, Ronnie Gossett of Kemp, Debbie Fry of Midland; eight grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, many other loving family members and countless friends.
