James  Warren


Services for James D. Warren, 75, of Payne Springs, will be held June 24, 2013, at Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tonya Broumley officiating. Interment followed at Payne Springs Cemetery.
Warren was born June 27, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Claire (Hollingsworth) and Charles Doss Warren, and died June 17, 2013.
He was known as “Jimbo” to his family and friends and was a big joker.
He loved his dog “Tucker” and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He also enjoyed pro football and was an all around handyman. He played with yard equipment and did repair work on small engines. He was driven to new challenges and was always eager to research and learn new things.
He retired from Texas Instruments, where he programmed robots, coded computers and was a technical engineer. He served in the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma J. Truly, and his parents.
Survivors include his daughter, Stacy Penney, and husband Doyle of Thrall; grandchildren Kassandra Penney, Gwen De La Cruz, Shailyn Penney, Sandy Valdivia; 12 great-grandchildren; other loving family members; many friends; and his dog, “Tucker.”
