Georgia Sims

Georgia Lee Sims, 87, died April 12, 2013 in Weiser, Idaho. She had lived in Mabank for about 10 years in the 90s.
She was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Sondheimer, La., to Georgia Lee (Hollingsworth) and Roy M. Conn.
She was unable to care for herself at her home after having knee surgery and resided in an assisted living facility.
She married William H. Sims in 1943. He was in the service at the time and soon afterwards moved to Utah.
In 1952, the couple moved to Chula Vista, Calif., where they later divorced.
She retired from Pacific Bell Telephone Company in San Diego, Calif., after more than 29 years and moved to Texas to be with her family in the 90s. She lived in Mabank for about 10 years.
She enjoyed traveling, flowers, feeding and watching birds, luncheons with friends, crocheting, knitting, reading romance novels and doing crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, a son and a 3-month-old grandson.
Survivors include her sisters, Katherine “Kat” Long, of Arkansas, Margaret “Mot” Ware of Texas, and Betty Ebarb of Texas; and brother Roy “Bubba” Conn of Texas.
