Leathers was born Aug. 8, 1933, in Meadville, Pa., to Gretchen (Fahr) and John Grinnell II, and died March 27, 2013.
She was a fifty-year member of the Order of Eastern Star at Gun Barrel City No. 1114. She attended East Texas State University, where she was a member of Delta Kappa. She was just short of a Master’s degree in education when she left. She enjoyed history and writing poems. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Laura Marie Leathers.
Survivors include her husband, John Leathers, of Kemp; sons John Leathers III and wife Susan of Crandall, Scott Leathers of Mesquite; grandchildren John IV, Bobby and Michael Hanson, Brian Leathers; great-grandchildren Bobby, Adyson and Andrew Hanson, Bailey and Legend Leathers and JT Leathers V; brother John Grinnell and wife Connie of Tuscon, Ariz.; many other loving family members and friends.
