MABANK–Mabank Panther pitcher Stephen Caillet threw a no-hitter in Mabank’s 8-0 win over the visiting Kemp Yellowjackets Tuesday.
“We needed a good win after hitting a rough patch the past week and a half,” Mabank head coach Jeff Johnson said. “Stephen pitched a great game for us,” he added.
Caillet struck out 16 batters and walked just three in his complete game outing.
In addition to the no hitter, Caillet had a hit and two RBIs for the Panthers.
John Velez and Colt Conway each had two hits with two RBIs, while Garrett Holcomb had two RBIs on three hits.
Mabank returns to action Tuesday as they host the Brownsboro Bears in the first district game of the season.
The Kemp Yellowjackets open their district schedule Tuesday as they host the Malakoff Tigers.
