ADAMS-obitServices for Billy “Bill” J. Adams, 82, of Gun Barrel City, were held March 11, 2013, at Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Red Hill Cemetery in Murchison.
Adams was born June 12, 1930, in Quinlan, to Annie Belle (Horton) and Thomas Luther Adams, and died March 8, 2013.
He was Baptist by faith and attended First Baptist of Seven Points.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, crafting ink pens and playing dominoes, especially 42.
His hobbies included baseball and reading, especially Louis L’Amour novels.
He was employed at Dallas ISD for 29 years before retiring. He volunteered as a Boy Scout Master and was a member of the React Emergency CB Radio Response Unit.
He was ordained as a Minister at 27, and served the Lord in the ministry for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Thomas, Herbert, Russell and Donald, and sister Fay McAnally.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Jessie Joan Adams, of Gun Barrel City; sons Jeffrey M. Adams and wife Becky of Payne Springs, Kyle J. Adams of Gun Barrel City, Bruce A. Adams and wife Donna of Kaufman; daughter Carrie A. Howard of Gun Barrel City; sister Wanda M. Hillhouse of Athens; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other loving family members and many friends.
