Services for Melvin Walter Cawthon, 75, of Mabank, were held Feb. 16, 2013, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery.
Cawthon was born Oct. 7, 1937, in Waco, to Leo Viva and Nathan Cawthon, and died Feb. 13, 2013, at East Texas Medical Center.
He worked at Quinius Pest Control for 25 years. He enjoyed artwork, spending time with his grandchildren and was interested in world events.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leo Cawthon and daughter Karen Denijse Cawthon.
Survivors include his sons, Nathan Cawthon of Mabank, Carl Cawthon of Eustace, and Dale Cawthon and wife Lynn of McKinney; grandchildren Justin, Alissa, Matthew, Michael, Brandon, Karen and Shelbi Cawthon.
Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army of Austin.
