Carlton was born April 18, 1933, in Buckner, Ark., to Maude and Burnard Carlton, and died Feb. 17, 2013.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, golfing, camping and woodworking.
He also enjoyed gardening and being a practical joker.
He was a Petty Officer in the United States Navy with foreign decoration. He owned a successful business for 31 years and was a member of the Cedar Creek Lakers RV Club.
He was also a member at the First Baptist Church in Malakoff.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, four sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include his loving wife, Earlene Carlton, of Malakoff; daughters Donna Shavers and husband Alvis of Scurry, DeDe Carlton Logan of Payne Springs, Diane Coursey and husband Maxie of Scurry; sister Ruby Nell Shellnut of Benton, Ark.; grandchildren Christina, Alyson, Alan, Chase, Casey, Jennifer, Ronnie and Kristyn; 13 great-grandchildren; other loving family members and many friends.
