Services for Leo Weldon “Butch” Tiberghien III, 69, were held at White’s Chapel of Memories, in Weatherford. Interment followed at East Greenwood Cemetery, in Weatherford.
Tiberghien was born Nov. 18, 1943, in Yuma, Ariz., to Erma Neal (Borden) and Leo Weldon Tiberghien II, and died Jan. 14, 2013, in Gun Barrel City.
He was reared in Weatherford, attending Weatherford High School and Allen Military Academy.
Upon graduation, he joined the United States Air Force, and was honorably discharged May 27, 1964.
He was a certified helicopter mechanic, heavy equipment operator and long distance truck driver.
He was an avid fisherman and a Master Mason at the Cedar Creek Lake Masonic Lodge Post 1431 in Gun Barrel City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, uncles Jack Borden of Weatherford and C.B. Borden of Fort Worth; aunts Edith Borden, of Weatherford, Willie Thompson of San Diego, Calif., and Sammye B. Layman of Austin.
Survivors include his brother, John Westhoff, and wife Sue Ann, of Weatherford; niece Paige Westhoff of Dallas; nephew U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander John Trenton Westhoff and wife Amy; granddaughters Corrine and Bryleigh Westhoff of St. Louis, Mo.; cousins Nancy Borden O’Neal, Susie Borden Gandy and Eddie Borden, all of Fort Worth, Traci Layman Brown of Lubbock, Terri Layman Short of Austin, and Betty and Linda Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any Masonic Lodge or to the Texas Pythian Home in Weatherford.
