Myers was born Jan. 31, 1927, in Washington, Ill., to Cora (Lowery) and Casper Faubel and died Jan. 13, 2013, at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka, Ill., where she had been residing since 1996.
After earning a dietician certificate from Illinois Central College, she worked for the Mabank Independent School District as a dietician supervisor for 17 years and was a resident of Gun Barrel City. She worked at Maple Lawn Homes as a cook and head dietician for 16 years.
She loved gathering with her family and always had open arms and an open home to anyone in need. She was willing and ready to offer a meal. She enjoyed sewing, canning, cooking, camping, and fishing.
She married Edward Myers March 22, 1947, in Peoria, Ill. He died May 28, 1993.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Duncan and husband Larry of Rockwell, Vanita Stroud of Coppell; sons Gary Myers and wife Elizabeth of Eureka, Ill., Gordon Myers of Tyler, David Myers and wife Sue of Tyler; sisters Arnola Wright and husband Bud of Washington, Ill., Mary Ann Hyten of Eureka, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren, and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Communities of Maple Lawn.
