Hinton was born March 6, 1934, in Jasper, Ga., to Ollie Mae and Charlie Carpenter and died Jan. 1, 2013.
She cherished her children, was very active in her community and loved animals.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening and visiting with people. She was a longtime Log Cabin city councilwoman, starting in crime watch and the seniors group. She enjoyed organizing and entering Chili Cook-Offs and often won.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John and sister Alice.
Survivors include her daughter, Janelle Jones, of Dallas; sons Jeff Sandidge and wife Brenda of Arlington, Gerald Sandidge of Payne Springs; daughter Faye Angelone and husband Tony of Little Elm; stepdaughters Joan Foster of Log Cabin, Fern Hunt and husband Bill of Sulphur Springs; three sisters; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; other loving family members and friends.
