Services for Maxie Darwin Rowan, 73, of Canton, were held Jan. 6, 2013, at Eubank Chapel with Altos Womble officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.
Burial was at Morris Cemetery in Van Zandt County.
Rowan was born Oct. 12, 1939, in Van Zandt County, to Myrtle Imogene (Gilliam) and J.P. Rowan and died Jan. 4, 2013, in Canton.
He grew up in the China Grove Community and graduated from Martins Mill High School.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Cowboys and Rangers. He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Canton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Billy Wayne Rowan.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Blank and husband Damon of Nacogdoches; grandsons Danton Blank of Nacogdoches, Dalton Blank of Nacogdoches, Dagon Blank of Nacogdoches; brother Donnie Rowan of Mabank; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers are Mike Rowan, Ricky Rowan, Dennis Rowan, Allen sides, Maxie Turner and Gene Wombie.
