Lady Pirates slip past Lady Panthers

MABANK–The visiting Crandall Lady Pirates eased past the Mabank Lady Panthers, 44-38, Tuesday.
Leading the Lady Panthers’ offense was Kourtney Holyfield with 12 points and three assists. She hit two three-pointers.
Kaitlyn Holyfield followed with eight points and an offensive rebound.
Gabi Corder scored six points for the Mabank girls, and Meagan Holyfield scored four points.
The game was close through the first period, with Crandall scoring 10 points and Mabank scoring eight.
The second period saw the Lady Pirates add 11 points to their score, while Mabank scored 10.
Coming out of halftime with a three-point, 21-18 deficit, the Lady Panthers tied the game, 31-31 in the third period.
A strong fourth period made the difference in the game, with Crandall outscoring Mabank, 13-7, to seal the victory.
The Panthers traveled to Kerens Friday to face the Lady Bobcats, and are set to host Bullard Tuesday.
