Brittany MarkhamServices for Brittany Marie Markham, 21, are set for 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at the New Beginnings Baptist Church in Kemp with Rev. Frank Sizemore officiating under the direction of Anderson-Clayton Bros. Visitation is set for 3 p.m.
Markham was born on May 3, 1991, in Terrell, to Rose Marie and Billy Wayne Markham, and died Dec. 3, 2012, in Kemp.
She was a 2010 graduate of Kemp High School and was a waitress at her grandmother’s restaurant, The Western Café of Kemp.
As a child, she enjoyed dancing while standing on her father’s feet and spending time with her family. She was the social bee and the life of the party.
She considered all others before herself and often felt there was not enough time in the day to help so many. She was known for her contagious laugh, slobbery kisses and being clumsy.
She was the queen of texting and talking, and never seemed to have enough time in her life for that as well. She was the light and joy of her family’s life.
She was a member of the New Beginnings Baptist Church and was baptized Oct. 21, 2012, by the “Preacher Man,” Rev. Frank Sizemore.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Fred and Virgie Lindsey, R.L and Mary Hudson, grandparents Arthur Markham and Ronald Lindsey, and stepgrandfather Foy Brewer.
Survivors include her father, Billy Wayne Markham, and stepmother Stephanie of Rockwall; mother Rose Marie Smith and stepfather Philip of Kemp; brother Kasey Wayne Markham of Kemp; stepbrother Philip Smith Jr. of Kemp; stepsisters Halie Miller of Kemp, Brenda McLemee of Rockwall and Sarah Greene of Rockwall; grandparents Ted and Cleo Helsley of Kemp, Katie and Johnny Pattison of Emhouse; uncles Timmy Markham of Sulphur Springs, Ritchie Lindsey of Kemp, Paul Hutchins of Kemp and David of Kemp; aunts Rhonda Markham, Rolanda Smith and husband Billy of Kemp, Rosland Baker and husband Mitch of Gun Barrel City and Deshaunda Wilson of Mabank; numerous cousins and friends.
