Charles Bjerke

Charles Jerome Bjerke, was an orphan at Mercy Orphanage in run by nuns, Bay City Michigan. His place of birth and date are still unknown. He was given a birth date of June 9 by the two wonderful people took him home as an infant.
Mary and Jerome Bjerke raised him with love. They gave him two sisters, Henrietta, his favorite playmate, and Joyce.
He was involved in many organizations and clubs throughout his life and visited children’s hospitals as Pinky the Clown. He was extremely artistic and owned a ceramic shop for many years.
He was a newspaper man moving all over the country, learning the trade in his fathers business in Minnesota.
He attended Payne Spring United Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed by friends, family and especially by his daughters.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Jerry, daughter Cynthia, grandchildren Kenneth and Danielle, sister Joyce and niece Mary Faith.
He is survived by his wife Enid; daughters Sandra and husband Harmon and Susan and husband Al; grandchildren David Yukie, Jennifer, Destinie and husband Ricardo; great-grandchildren Tiffany, Joey, Christian and William Castor; sister Henrietta “Etta”; niece Kathleen and husband Bryan; stepchildren Kathy and James and their families.
Bjerke died Nov. 23, 2012, and donated his body to science.
