Special to The Monitor
TOOL–The Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake will soon display new wall designs in its cats adoption room.
Since the walls are made from material to facilitate easy cleaning, artist Christopher Terwilliger, of New York, and a relative of a local resident, suggested hanging wall cutouts in groupings instead of painting directly on the walls.
Terwilliger hand-painted realistic, life-sized cats and kittens on primed, sanded board in many poses and colors taken from photos of resident cats at the shelter.
The painted cats were cut out, sanded and touched up and will soon be on display in the cat adoption room for visitors to admire during their visit.
The Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake appreciates Christopher Terwilliger for donating his time and talents, Custom Home Painting and Remodeling Larry Reneau, of Mabank, for his generous paint donations and Sherwin Williams Paint Store in Gun Barrel City for mixing the colors.
