Trinidad residents Davy Helm (left) and Kevin Chapman (right) offer a limousine to hold Toys for Tots drive last year at the Library at Cedar Creek Lake. Chapman said that though he doesn’t have a limousine for this year’s event, it will be equally noticeable. “All toys collected stay right here for local kids,” Chapman added.

CEDAR CREEK LAKE–The residents of Chapman House in Eustace, (a transitional home for men rebuilding their lives) will assist in the annual Toys for Tots drive in Seven Points Saturday, Dec. 8.
The toy drive, benefiting local needy families, is being held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside The Library at Cedar Creek Lake in conjunction with the much-anticipated Breakfast With Santa event.
Sponsored by the city of Seven Points and the Family Resource Center, the toy drive is soliciting new, unwrapped presents for children ages 2-16.
Look for the men in Santa caps and large trucks to hold all the donations.
The Seven Points Fire Department will deliver all the gifts to needy families just a few days before Christmas.
Those living on the west side of the lake may apply as beneficiaries by filling out a short form at either city hall or the new Family Resource Center on State Highway 274 in Seven Points.
Breakfast with Santa is hosted by The Friends of the Library at Cedar Creek Lake and for a low fee (children $2 and adults $3) serves up a pancake and sausage breakfast, including fruit slices and orange juice.
Traditionally, families with young children attend wearing their holiday finery to get a visit and photo with Santa and receive a gift book.
Santa’s helpers guide youngsters through various holiday craft-making activities inside the library. The festivities start at 9 a.m. and continue until 11 a.m.
