CEDAR CREEK LAKE–With football over for all area high schools, basketball season is in full swing, and all teams are gearing up for district play.
Although the Thanksgiving holiday slowed the action, teams still got work in.
The Kemp Yellowjacket boys lost to the visiting Grand Saline Indians, 52-37, Nov. 19, and fell to the Kaufman Lions, 62-47, Nov. 20.
The Lady Yellowjackets lost to the visiting Crandall Lady Pirates, 56-30, Nov. 20.
The ’Jackets hosted Lighthouse Christian Tuesday, and will compete in the Sunnyvale basketball tournament Thursday through Saturday.
The Lady Yellowjackets traveled to Elkhart Tuesday, and will compete in the Scurry-Rosser basketball tournament Nov. 29-Dec. 1.
The Eustace Lady Bulldogs had trouble with the visiting Van Lady Vandals, losing 63-27 Nov. 20.
The Bulldog boys team also fell to the Vandals, 70-29.
The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs hosted Fruitvale Tuesday, and will host the Eustace basketball tournament Nov. 29 through Dec. 1.
The Mabank Panthers, under new head coach Tracy Carter, edged the visiting Kilgore Bulldogs, 47-43, Nov. 20. The win gives the Panthers a 2-0 record.
The Panthers visited the Malakoff Tigers Tuesday and will compete in the Sunnyvale tournament Thursday through Saturday.
The Lady Panthers hosted Martin’s Mill Tuesday, and will compete in the Wills Point tournament Thursday through Saturday.
