Eustace girls take Lady Tigers the distance

TERRELL–The Eustace Lady Bulldogs saw their volleyball season end in a five-game loss to the District 14-2A Div. I Commerce Lady Tigers Tuesday.
The two teams met for the regional quarterfinal playoff match in Terrell, and Eustace took control early, winning the first two games; 26-24 and 25-18.
Commerce came hitting out in the third set, blowing past Eustace 25-13.
The Lady Bulldogs, unfazed by game three, battled Commerce hard in a back-and-fourth game four, only to fall 29-27.
Game five, much like game four, was a toss-up until late. Commerce won the set, 15-13, sealing the match win and advancing in the playoffs where they will face the District 12-2A Div. I Gunter Lady Tigers.
Against Commerce, Eustace Lady Bulldog Kacie Richards had 23 kills and an ace serve.
Mallory Keeling had 23 assists and two kills, Peyton Dibari had two aces and two kills and Casey Bramblitt added 12 kills and three aces.
Bethany Strickland had eight kills and an ace, while Chelsea Oldham had six assists.
Eustace defeated the Edgewood Lady Bulldogs in four games at the bi-district round of the playoffs, the defeated Redwater in three games in the area round.
The Lady Bulldogs ended their successful season with a 30-9 record.
