Louis Eickel

Services for Louis Bernard Eickel, 95, of Kemp, will be held at a later date under the direction of Moorhead-Epps Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City.
He was born March 10, 1917, in St. Louis, Mo., to Amelia and Charles Eickel and died Oct. 22, 2012, in his home.
He retired from Sperry Flight Systems after 26 years, traveling by car and ship, making many domestic and international cruises.
He lived in the Cedar Creek Lake area for 30 years and was a former member of the Cedar Creek Country Club. He enjoyed swimming and golfing.
He was a longtime member and an ordained Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Mabank.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mike, Pete and Elmer Eickel and sister Henrietta Sanchez.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Ruth Anna; son Chris Eickel and wife Pam; daughters Nancy Fullerton and Barbara Eickel; grandchildren Shannon Daves and husband Paul, Jay Fullerton and wife Leeat, Eric Eickel and wife Kerri, Michelle Maples and husband Chad and Jessica Boyd and husband Jason; great-grandchildren Dominic Maddalena, Judah and Pesha Fullerton and Kaelyn and Alyssa Eickel; and brother Billy Eickel.
