Fatal 198 crashMonitor Staff Reports
MABANK–A police report on the fatal accident involving three cars on State Highway 198 in Mabank June 27, states the contributing cause of the accident.
Investigation of the crash site and statements from those involved caused police to conclude that the 2010 black Ford Expedition driven by Gary Leroy Johnson crossed the center line from the shared center lane as he traveled north on SH 198.
His most likely destination was his office, situated between the new Brookshire’s building site and Groom’s &Sons.
When he crossed into the center southbound lane he struck a 2003 Ford F-350 Duley on the center front.
The Duley, driven by Kristina L. Ballard, was deflected to the right and struck a 2000 White Nissan Maxima on its back driver’s side panel.
